Mystery solved already, it is a Clerodendrum bungei also known as the rose glory bower or Mexican hydrangea which should give me lots of flowers up until November or our first hard frost.
Do you know what this is?
Need help with identification again.
This is a small slow growing shrub the stems are almost black.
It is about 4 foot tall and only about 18 inches in diameter.
It was very late to start getting leaves, it was in a border with some roses and they had leaves at least 4 – 6 weeks before this did, I almost chucked it out.
Here is a close up of the leaves and a flower bud.
The flowers have just started to open.
They have a very strong scent, reminds me a bit of jasmine.
This is clerodendron bungei, often called cashmere bouquet. I have this growing in my garden and have posted about it on my blog. When the flowers finish blooming, be sure and cut them off, and the plant will continue to bloom.

Always Growing
Thanks for your help Jan. It was I plant that I inherited in my garden when I moved here last year, I hate not knowing what plants are as I need to know how to look after them. The previous owner probably bought it from our Ventnor Botanic Garden where they have a nursery full of plants not often found.
