Vegetables to Sow in May

Now that May is here there are lots of seeds that you can now plant outside in the ground or in containers, without having to give them any protection from the elements. But do keep an eye out for night time temperatures, if there are any cold nights you can always cover any seedlings with a piece of newspaper or net curtain or that special garden fleece.
Courgette, cucumber, marrow, gourd, pumpkin, pea, runner bean, sweet corn.
Beetroot, carrot, endive, potato, radish, salsify, onion.
Broccoli, cauliflower.
Brussels sprout, cabbage, cardoon, kohlrabi, celery, chervil, chinese cabbage, cress, escarole, endive, fennel, leek, lettuce, parsley, purslane, rocket, sorrel, spinach, swiss chard.
